Speaker selection process
At Sync, we strive for fairness, diversity of thought, and high-quality content. Our speaker selection is a 60/40 mix of curation and review by a neutral selection committee.
The Speaker Selection Committee is co-led by Johannes Schickling and Adam Wiggins, as well as various other community members, who rotate yearly.
The selection committee individually reviews and scores each proposal. For each paper the totals per submission are averaged and then debated over the course of one or two sessions amongst the committee. Everyone will get a response via email, whether they are accepted or rejected. Unfortunately we don’t have capacity to give individual feedback.
Talks are chosen based on value to the community, not based on affiliations or commercial interests. Our highest-tier sponsor (Platinum) is guaranteed one talk or workshop slot, which is clearly disclosed and does not affect the impartiality of other selections.
What we look for in speakers
We welcome talks, demos, case studies, technical deep-dives, and real-world lessons learned from working on sync software. While we do have some novice speakers, we also appreciate speaking experience in order to guarantee strong delivery. We are not interested in sales pitches.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- novel sync technologies and patterns/approaches
- demos of sync tech and apps built on sync
- use cases for sync- AI app development on sync
- resilient token streaming
- realtime data plane for agents- client
-side stores and reactivity
- sync with external data
Organizer participation policy
